BRA Notice about Banners on the Safety Railings the junction of the A246 and Bookham High Street.
Recently there has been a proliferation of posters and banners from commercial and community groups on the railings at the junction of the A246 and Bookham High Street.
SCC Highways have advised the BRA that the attachments of banners on the railings is not permissible. There are two reasons the first being road safety. These banners can detract driver’s attention at a busy junction and could lead to an unnecessary accident. Secondly commercial advertising is not allowed on road side safety facilities.
If banners continue to be put on the railings SCC will remove them and these can be retrieved by contacting SCC who will advise where they are stored. This could be one of many SCC depots.
If you wish to promote charitable services or events there are many notices boards in the Village run by the BRA which will accept your promotions. (Call 0300 030 9890). In addition there is the Bookham Village Website or alternatively Look Local charge very reasonable rates as does the Bookham Bulletin.
